Yasser Desai is a Bollywood singer who has made his debut into Bollywood with the film Beiimaan Love. He crooned two songs in the movie, Main Adhoora and Mere Peeche Hindustaan Hai. Since then, it’s been no turning back for the talented singer.
Recently, we were in conversation with the singer for his new song, Dil Maang Raha Hai, from the upcoming horror flick Ghost. The singer talked about his journey, the making of the song and his experience doing the movie. Read on to know all the deets!
1. How do you react when people when they talk about your work in a positive way?
I think it’s great. This is one of the greatest high that an artist can get when he is being appreciated.
2. Yasser, how did you come on board Ghost?
I think it’s all thanks to Vikram sir. He likes my work. Thanks to him, he asked Sanjeev to get me dubbed on the song. Also, I have got 2 more songs on the Hindi album – so all thanks to Vikram sir.
3. What was Vikram Bhatt’s reaction when he heard the final cut of the song?
He loved it.
4. How has the journey been so far?
I think this is a dream come true. Just yesterday I met Shaan da and I was talking about how I used to watch them on screen and now I am discussing music with them. It’s unreal. It’s a dream come true.
5. Yasser, are you a fan of horror movies?
Yeah, I love horror movies.
6. Did you ever think you will be singing for a horror movie in the future?
No no, never. I never thought that I will sing in a Horror movie. I actually never thought I will be able to sing in a movie, let alone a horror movie.
7. Which is that one actor you would love to sing for in future?
Emraan Hashmi, he is my favorite since forever.
8. What was your reaction Yasser, when you watched the trailer of Ghost?
It’s wonderful. I did not expect my song to be in the trailer though.
9. Have you ever been in a situation where you don’t like the lyrics of the song but still sang it?
It happens most of the times, we humans have creative differences. If there’s no creative difference then we won’t enjoy doing work. So yes, it happens many times but then it gets adjusted.
10. What’s next on your list Yasser?
I am working on my single which will come next year – January 2020.
Ghost, a Vashu Bhagnani production, is directed by Vikram Bhatt. Starring Sanaya Irani and Shivam Bhaargava, the horror film will release on October 18.
