PANCHATTVA A Unique Collaboration Of Five Talented Musicians

PANCHATTVA:
Five promising musicians collaborated to form a unique combination of Hindustani classical music with other world music genres.

Their genre of music ranges from soulful classical ragas, contemporary, fusion, Jazz to world music. The fusion of Indian classical instruments like mridangam and sitar with Western tones gives a beautiful contrast to the listener. Panchattva‘s music can fit into any kind of setting and mood. The effort is to provide the patrons with a new flavor of music to refresh their minds and souls.

Band members:

Sarang: Sitar
Sarang’s journey as a sitarist started from the age of eighteen. He started learning sitar from Srimati Kakoli Ghosh. Presently his Guru is Pt. Ravi Chary. His passion and dedication as a sitarist fetched him accolades and enabled him to create a unique identity of a young upcoming dynamic artist.
He has played over 400 shows and has also performed all over India and outside of India like Abu Dhabi, Srilanka, Africa to name some.

Niranjan: Keys
Niranjan is a pianist and composer. He started studying piano at the age of 20 under Mrs.Roshan Chowna. During his studies, he also successfully completed sound recording and engineering courses under the guidance of India’s ace Sound Engineer Mr. Daman Sood. He has recorded for Zee Marathi and also for films as a session artist. Studying at Evans Piano Academy, Paris he formed his own trio called Paris meets Bombay and did concerts in Paris’ well know Jazz clubs. He has also performed with well known international Sitarist Pt. Ravi Chary and Italian drummer Matteo from Italy, at NCPA Mumbai.
He is currently playing with various Jazz Ensembles and is a part of Sanam Puri’s band.

Ralph: Bass
Ralph is a SAM (Swarnabhoomi Academy of music) alumni from Chennai. He is currently playing with bands like Second Sight, Namit Das, The Tekina collab and The Kwar -tete, and is part of ensembles with Sid Jacobs, Pablo Lapidusas, Mili Vizcaino, Marcos nimrichter to name a few.

Jignesh Patel: Drums
Currently performing with Indie, Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Fusion bands and Bollywood artists like Sri Ram Iyer, Akasa Singh, Asees Kaur, Mame Khan as well. Played percussions in Bollywood movies like Banjo, Badrinath ki Dulhaniya, Poster Boyz, etc. Member of Ustad Taufiq Qureshi’s band- “‘Mumbai Stamp” Performed at *Gurupurnima function organized by Ustad Zakir Hussain. *Dumru Rythm Festival – biggest rythm festival of India.

K.Dakshinamurthy Pillai: Mridangam & Morchang

Son of Kalaimamani Shri T.S.Kadirvelu Pillai
Got his initial training and Nattuvangam from his father. He is the first-degree holder in Mridangam from Annamalai University Chidambaram. Currently pursuing his M.A. in Mridangam from Bridge Academy, Chennai. He is B graded artist from All India Radio, Mumbai, performing for radio concerts since 2012. I have been performing for more than 12 years.
