From Annabelle To The Nun: Movies That Must Be Watched Before Annabelle Comes Home

Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, The Conjuring Universe is the best Hollywood horror universe so far. The films present a dramatization of the real-life cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent yet controversial cases of haunting.

So as Annabelle Comes Home is releasing this weekend, we would like to give you a tour of the movies that you need to watch before watching this one.


  1. The Conjuring: (2013)

This was directed by James Wan. It revolved around a paranormal case of which the Warrens have been a was the case of the Perron family, who were experiencing disturbing events in their newly acquired house in Rhode Island.




  1. Annabelle: (2014)

This is a prequel to The Conjuring. Directed by The Conjuring cinematographer John R. Leonetti, Annabelle reveals the events of Annabelle before the Warrens came in contact with it at the start of the first film.



  1. The Conjuring 2: (2016)

This one was also directed by James Wan. It revolved around a paranormal case of which the Warrens were a part of. It focused on the controversial case of Enfield Poltergeist while briefly referring to the events that inspired The Amityville Horror.



  1. Annabelle: Creation (2017)

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Annabelle: Creation shows the events of the origins of the demon-manipulated doll.



  1. The Nun: (2018)

Directed by Corin Hardy, The Nun is a prequel to Conjuring 2. It is based on the character of Valak which was showed in Conjuring 2. It focused on the origins of the demonic nun Valak before coming in contact with the Warrens.



  1. The Curse Of The Weeping Woman: (2019)

Directed by Michael Chaves, The Curse Of The Weeping Woman is based on the Mexican folklore of La Llorona. It is about a mother in Los Angeles (1973) who must save her children from a malevolent spirit who is trying to steal them away.

  1. Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

Directed by Gary Dauberman, Annabelle Comes Home is the sequel to the Annabelle movies.
