Filmmaker Aneeta Patel on her film in the 9th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival
Filmmaker Aneeta Patel: To see my films in the 9th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival is a great feeling. Director Aneeta Patel is thrilled to see the response her two films – She’s D One starring Ssharad Malhotra and The Bar starring Sudhanshu Pandey – have generated. The films have been hugely appreciated and even made it to the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival.
“Both the films, She’s D One and The Bar, have been well appreciated. But honestly, what’s closest to my heart is when people around me love the film. To see both the films in the 9th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival is a great feeling. Fingers crossed let’s hope for the best. My 3rd film The Meeting is also getting a good response,”.
Talking about her future plans, she says,
“I have a couple of interesting concepts for short films. I’m also ready with a web series and apart from that, I’m very excited about what I’m making next. It’s quirky, it’s something that will make you sit up and think. I’m working with talented actors and can’t wait to shoot next month.”
The filmmaker has had quite a journey with the two films.
“Being a part of the industry is never easy, it has its ups and downs. There are days everything seems stuck. Those are the testing times, nothing worth having comes easy,” she says, adding, “It’s been a wonderful journey. My first short film She’s D One is synonymous with its actor Ssharad Malhotra. He has taken the film a few notches higher with his fabulous performance. After that was The Bar. It was very different from my first and Sudhanshu Pandey was a perfect fit to play Kabir. I’m happy to have got the opportunity of working with him.”
