Since Tanushree Dutta opened up about being harassed on set Horn Ok Pleassss as well as being asked to strip during a song schedule of Chocolate, a lot of such stories are surfacing in the media. And now, another notable director of the industry has been accused in the #MeToo movement – Subhash Ghai.
The Ram Lakhan director has been accused by a fellow industry person for raping her many years ago. The victim has not revealed her name stating that she doesn’t want her family to know about it.

The woman states that she was learning under Mr. Ghai and alleges that he raped her after spiking her drink.
In lieu of the #MeToo movement in the industry, many who have been accused and those who had knowledge of the same but kept quite, have been disassociated with. Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba are no longer part of All India Bakchod. Tanmay has been asked to step away while Khamba is on a temporary leave of absence.
Queen director Vikas Bahl has been accused of sexual harassment by a former employee of Phantom Films. Co-founders of Phantom Films, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, spoke about the accusation on social media and said that he should be held responsible for his crimes.
Television and film actor Alok Nath too has been accused of raping Writer-producer-director Vinta Nanda over 20 years ago.
In wake of the same, many institutions and people in the country are supporting the #MeToo movement. MAMI dropped two films – AIB’s ‘Chintu Ka Birthday’ and Rajat Kapoor’s ‘Kadakh’ – from the line-up of the upcoming 20th edition of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
