In an interview, Shahid Kapoor was asked that actors dwell themselves completely into the character like he had done in Udta Punjab, so what psychological changes did he go through?

To this the actor said:

“So weird things happen. Since you are talking about Udta Punjab so I remember around one week into the shooting of the film, I was shooting in Amritsar, and I was alone in the hotel room where we were staying, every night for 12 nights I had fever and used to sweat so much at night that I had to change my t-shirt 3 times. I got every blood test done and the doctor said there is nothing wrong with you. I had no idea what had happened for that 12 nights.

So you know sometimes you get so into a character that it actually has a physical manifestation. And today when I look back that’s the only thing that I can think of that I was so zoned into that character it was physically manifesting itself into some kind of a reaction.

Those things happen and I think it is very important to not take yourself seriously right after you pack up  and I say this that you should not do this at the end of the shoot but at the end of everyday shoot and if possible after every shot because you are only depleting yourself of the energies and you really need to conserve yourself.”

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh produced by TSeries, Batti Gul Meter Chalu starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Divyenndu Sharma is all set to release on 21st September.
