M.U.M Music Release Fantastic New EP Titled Tabla Bass!
Tabla Bass EP is a no-holds-barred exploration into Asian electronic music which is Drum and Bass inspired. Fused with the most prominent North Indian percussion instrument, the Tabla. The EP features six tracks all climbing above 165 beats per minute. Representing the influence of UK Drum and Bass. Birmingham born artists Dal and Manpreet Darroch make up M.U.M Music. Having been heavily influenced by the 90’s Asian Underground scene, and sounds of mainstream electronica.
The duo have put together a series of compositions that represent their passion for big festival sounds. Diving into deep and dark underground atmospheres the duo give us an outstanding EP. Tabla Bass is M.U.M Music’s third offering and is the most ambitious one to date. It features a collaboration with Mumbai based classical singer Shri and lyrics from Darrocha.
Offering a contemporary sound, the EP asks some questions about modern day lifestyles in ‘Demon Eyes’, about new spirituality in ‘Light Family’ about wealth and happiness in ‘The Mystic’ and merging of cultures in ‘Tabla Bass’. Tabla Bass EP releases on all major digital outlets through Tigerstyle’s Soldier Sound Recordings boutique music label on 12th April 2018, with a music video for the title track Tabla Bass to accompany the release.
The EP should be on your Monday playlist its upbeat vibrant and intriguing. Sufi Slam, Tabla Bass and Bass Goblin (my personal favorite), is a fresh new take on Drum and Bass. It takes me back to the late 90’s and early 00’s staying true to its roots. Despite only having six tracks and amazing cover art, there’s something for everyone and Tabla Bass shouldn’t be missed!
