Female filmmakers still aren’t getting the same recognition as male directors do. Jaspreet Kaur and Prabhjot Bhangu are the two directors who have put in the efforts to prove the world wrong. They both are independent filmmakers and have produced a horror/thriller film. Jaspreet Kaur the producer and the writer of the film quotes,
A community where talking about sex is considered rude? It was quite a struggle to make a horror film.
Prabhjot Bhangu the co-writer and co-producer of The Tormenting aka Poignant further quotes,
There were many sleepless nights, but with the help and support of family members we were able to make this film.
The Tormenting is released on DVD in North America by Breaking Glass Pictures on November 7, 2017.
