Abhishek Awasthi fills in late actor Arijit Lavania’s shoes on Mahakaali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai

Actor Abhishek Awasthi is essaying the role of Nandi in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Mahakaali– Anth Hi Aarambh Hai. The role was earlier played by actor Arijit Lavania, who passed away in a tragic car accident last month. He was accompanied by his co-actor Gagan Kang, who also passed away. Gagan’s role of Indira is now being essayed by Manish Bishla.

“I have never done a mythological show and seeing that this show has been made by one of the most popular production houses and channels, I thought I should give it a try. It was also a very challenging character to play. I will do my best,”

says Abhishek, adding,

“I have been following the show since the first episode. Since I’m from the North, such shows interest me. Nandi was a great warrior and the best part is that of this show he is not portrayed in a comical light. We have a good-looking Nandi, who is a big draw with kids.”

Stepping into Arijit’s shoes was challenging.

“The loss of any actor is huge but as they say, ‘The show must go on.’ I know a lot of people on the set were very attached to Arjit, who was doing a good job. I also know that I have to make my own mark in the role and not just be his replacement. I plan to give it my own touch by keeping the character cute yet aggressive when required. After my first day on the set, a lot of people came up and praised me, which was a nice gesture.”

He has been preparing well for the show. He says,

“I am trying to keep my body muscular. The character is supposed to be cute as well as a strong warrior. I have to mix up the two looks.”

This is the first time that Abhishek is working with Swastik Productions and says that he was excited to work with them.

“I have seen their work and I really wanted to do one of their shows. The treatment and facilities they are giving us are very genuine. It is really the best production house,”

he says.
