Popular TV Producer Nikhil Sinha, who has made shows like Mahadev, Hatim, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo and now Siya Ke Ram, is one man who knows what audience across India want to see on TV. A creative person, Nikhil says he is driven by the sheer pleasure he gets from crafting interesting shows, more than anything else. And this is made evident when you see the kind of shows he makes. He says,
“The fun of creating something has been my driving force. I have often made difficult, heavy duty shows because the challenge of creating give me the ultimate satisfaction. As a creative person, I feel I am privileged and blessed to be in the media field.”
Another interesting trait that Nikhil has, is the fact that he only produces one show at a time, however, he has a valid reason for doing so. He says,
“People ask me about this a lot. It is not a policy that I have. I have been doing shows which have a large scale. If I am doing a daily soap, I can afford to do multiple shows. But these are mythological and historical shows. They have a huge scale and you have to do one at a time. I can do multiple big shows too, but then there is a margin for error, and I don’t want to make half-baked things. All my shows demand a lot of effort and time.”
Well, that’s fair enough. If that’s what it takes make high quality content on Indian TV, so be it! It just works as an example for other creative people too.
