Bollywood actress speaks against privatization of oil fields in Assam!

Model turned actress Mahika Sharma breaks her silence over privatization of 12 oil fields in Assam and tells this may lead to natural calamities at her home state. government should rethink about it.

Mahika Sharma, well known former miss teen northeast who hells from Assam and have already made her name in entertainment industry acting in bollywood movies and television shows now supports the group protesting for the state minerals.

“Privatization of 12 oil fields in Assam is not a great decision. I support the parties like ULFA(I), The Tai-Ahom Yuva Parishad, All Assam Students Union (AASU) and the peasant organization Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) who are protesting over the issue of natural resources, coinciding with the violent upsurge over the foreigners’ issue,”

Mahika tells.

She further adds,

“Recently, the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government in Assam announced its decision to privatize 12 discovered small oil and gas fields of OIL and ONGC across the state through global bidding. If with the announcment. Mr. Sonowal takes the risk of life of people of Assam. If he forgot that the assam is earthquake zone? If he really dont know what are the causes of earthquake? After privatization ownership of property from government will go to privately owned entity and private firms only are concern about Profit makings. Will he have an answer what will happen when most of our mineral will be extract?”

Mahika who is also known for her social work, charieties, NGO’s and donation for poors have again made a concern point which the Assam government should think about.
