Ssharad Malhotra talks BCL!

Ssharad Malhotra is undoubtley one of the most popular faces in the Insian television industry. Along with being a talented actor, he is a wonderful cricketer and excellent team leader. Under his captaincy, Kolkata Baabu Moshayes made it to the semifinals of BCL 2. Now that the season is over, Sshrad shares with us his most cherished memories from the matches.

Why did you chose to be part of BCL season 2?
The very reason I chose to be a part of BCL is my love for cricket. I have been playing cricket since my school days and my college days even when I was in Kolkata I played for Cricket Association of Bengal. I have always loved playing cricket. I have many tournaments and it’s like a religion in our country. I have played the season 1 as well and that’s the second reason for playing.

Why you chose to be part of Kolkata Baabu Moshayes? How was it playing for Nivedita Basu’s team?
I am from Kolkata so that’s the reason being I chose to play in Kolkata and the second reason being Nivedita Basu. She’s a very good friend of mine.

Since when you love cricket and share your passion for the sport? Who is your favorite cricketer?
As I told you I have been playing cricket since childhood and my college days. I have played all the major tournaments in Kolkata and I am very much passionate about the sport and my favorite cricketer is Sachin Tendulkar and whenever I get the opportunity I go and watch the live India matches.

Any memory on cricket matches in the past which you want to share
please tell in details.

I remember watching Sachin Tendulkar for the first time in India in Kolkata when the India Australia match happened at Eden Gardens, that was my first time watch Sachin Tendulkar play and watching him live was the biggest thing ever happened for a cricket fanatic like me. He is the god of cricket.

How much practice you do on day to day basis? Any injury you have
faced while practicing?

Whenever I get time to practice, but these days I am shooting 12 to 13 hours a day. I barely get time to practice but whenever I get time I do it after my shoot.

What measures did you take to sustain your energy during the matches?
I actually had a lot of injuries because of cricket. A lot of ankle injuries, lot of ligment tear and cramps I get all the time while practicing. I drink a lot of liquids, lot of Glucon D, lot of energy drinks, that is what I carry always with myself.

Who is your best pal in your team please share your rapport with
him or her?

My best pal in the team was Nivedita Basu as I know her from 4 years. She is a very good player and she’s very athletic and very sincere about the sport.
