Faran Tahir to appear in Prison Break Season 5!

Pakistani-American Hollywood actor Faran Tahir has been officially cast for a recurring role in Fox’s upcoming mini-series of their successful television drama Prison Break. He will be joining returning cast members Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Sarah Wayne Callies among others.

Prison Break Season 5 is set to begin filming this month across Morocco and Vancouver, and fans are waiting in anticipation for the upcoming Fox revival. Prison Break followed the story of brilliant structural engineer Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), whose brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is accused of murdering the brother of Vice President of the United States. After being sentenced to death, Lincoln awaits his execution but Michael, who is convinced of his innocence, formulates an escape plan to break into the prison and rescue his brother. The upcoming limited series of Prison Break is a sequel to the original series, taking place several years later, and is expected to air in September 2016.

The name of Faran’s character is Jamil and further details about the role will be revealed soon. Sharing the reason behind choosing to go ahead with the role, Faran explains,

“I like the inner conflict of the character.”

Faran Tahir is a Pakistani-American film and television actor. He is best known for his act as Raza, the leader of a terrorist organization, “The Ten Rings”, in Iron Man (2008). He appeared in JAG in the episodes “Ice Queen” and “Meltdown” which served as the two pilot episodes for the series NCIS. Seven years later, Tahir appeared in the spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles. Tahir has also guest starred on many television series, including Alias, The Practice, Family Law, The Agency, NYPD Blue, Lost, 7th Heaven, The West Wing, Walker, Texas Ranger, The D.A., 24, Monk, Justice, Cold Case, Chuck and Warehouse 13.
