#HoliHai: Kolkata Baabu Moshayes reveal their favorite Holi tunes!

With Holi right around the corner BCL’s Kolkata Baabu Moshayes are gearing up for yet another adventurous battle. This time it’s a battle of colors and cheerful music. Adding a bit of spice to their lives on the occasion of Holi are some of their favorite songs. Check out which songs make these Baabu Moshayes sway this festive season:

Nivedita Basu – My favorite Holi song is Do me a favor let’s play Holi because it is my very good friend, Anu Malik’s song. It’s so irreverent and cool. As for my own memories of the festival, it used to be scary back at home in Delhi. Women walked around with fear of being assaulted with paints, gobar and eggs. My brothers and sisters were always very protective of me. All I had to do was cry and my jiju would go and sock them. My sister was tough, her face was enough to scare everyone away.

Naman Shaw– My favorite Holi song is Rang Barse; it captures the spirit of the festival perfectly. And I have played the dirtiest Holi in Kolkata. Colors, eggs or rotten tomatoes – we used anything that our hand could grab. There used to be competition between two buildings in our area on who could get more nasty. If by chance, we got hold of a guy from the other building, we would tear his clothes and send him back with only colours all over his body.

Amit Sarin – Aayi aayi re Holi aayi, rang barse re neeley gagan se is my favorite Holi song. It is also my most memorable song as it was picturized on Isha Kopikkar and me. The song was shot in four nights, using artificial rain. It was like playing Holi for four nights with a lot dance, masti and rain.

Salil Acharya– Rang barse is my all-time favorite Holi song, especially the version remixed by Akbar Sami. Besides, the colors and songs, I love the sweets made on that day. Besides, I always feel it’s a day for who ever I have troubled to take revenge on me. Lol.

Arjit Taneja- I love the Balam Pichkari song. I believe that it’s the Holi song of our generation, and I also loads of memories associated with it.

Hiten Tejwani- Holi for me is synonymous with the Rang barse song from Silsila. This is one song that will make your feet move and dance to it. It is a perfect Holi song. My memories of Holi goes back to the day when I played Holi as a kid. We use to dig a huge hole in our building garden, fill it with water and mud and throw everyone in that dirty water. It was fun then, but when I think of it now, it was quite bad.

Sudeepa Singh- Rang barse sung and picturised on Amitabh Bachchan will always be my all time favorite Holi song. A lot of memories are attached to this song as it is one of the most played songs on Holi. I miss the celebrations in my hometown, when I used to play Holi with my cousins and colony friends. Nothing better than playing Holi with your close ones.

Ssharad Malhotraa- One of all-time favorite Holi song is Holi khele Raghuveera from the film Baghban. It’s full of masti, excitement and joyous mood. My most memorable Holi celebrations have taken place in in my hometown, where I played Holi with my friends. We used to play with colours, mud and water. I used to enjoy eating sweets.

Anuj Sachdev- I like Balam pichkari song; it’s a nice peppy number. Around ten years ago, I attended the Times of India (TOI) Holi party in Delhi with my childhood friends. I had bhaang for the first time there, and that too 12 glasses of it. I kept having it as I felt it was not working on me. But when it did hit me finally, all I was worried about was reaching home properly.

Sayantani Ghosh- My favorite Holi song is Balam Pichkari. As for an unforgettable Holi, I have very fond memories of playing it in my neighborhood as a kid.
