Happy 23rd Birthday Alia Bhatt!

Today (March 15) is Alia Bhatt’s 23rd birthday!  She’s on the younger side when it comes to our current Bollywood actresses, but her impact has already been pretty big!  Many have compared her acting talent to that of Kareena Kapoor – who just so happens to be one of her favorite actresses – and she has proven her ability in romantic films, comedy, as well as more serious roles.  Her career is only 4 years old, so we can only imagine how much better she’ll continue to get when she’s already doing good as an actress and singer!  Lets take a look back at some of her best films below to celebrate her birthday!

Alia made her big Bollywood debut in 2012 with the hit Student of the Year.  The film co-starred Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, and Sana Saeed, but it was Alia who stood out bringing freshness to the movie.  Plus, she proved her dancing prowess with Radha.

In 2014, Alia had 3 major releases (Highway, 2 States, and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), 1 short film (Going Home), and 1 cameo (Ugly).  Highway showcased a more mature side of Alia.  The role of a woman who develops Stockholm syndrome required a new level of acting from Alia.  She handled the role well and received praise from the press, fans, and her peers.  Not to mention, Alia also sang for the song “Sooha Saaha“.  If you haven’t heard it yet, check it out below.

2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania were both rom-coms that she effortlessly was able to get into.  The former paired her opposite Arjun Kapoor while the latter saw her paired again with Varun Dhawan.

Alia also sang for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in the song “Samjhawan Unplugged“, proving yet again what a talent she is.

Last year, Alia was paired opposite Shahid Kapoor for the first time in the film Shaandaar.  Although the movie did not fair too well at the box office, Alia and Shahid received praise for the chemistry between them.

This year, Alia will be seen in Kapoor & Sons and Udta Punjab!  So, you can be sure to catch her on the big screen.  For such a young star, she’s had a great career so far and is sure to only get better with each year. Happy Birthday Alia Bhatt!
