"Chull out" with Sidharth, Alia and Fawad!

Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan recently held a video press conference in New York City to promote their upcoming film, “Kapoor and Sons Since 1921.” The fun-loving trio revealed a lot of tidbits about the film and its soundtrack, including which is their favorite track!

All three stars agreed that that the track “Kar Gayi Chull” is their favorite song from the soundtrack.

But what does “Chull” mean? Well, Sidharth explained that they’re trying to change up the meaning of “chull” to make it a new trend.

“Chull up north in India means ‘itch.’” Sidharth said. “But we are making it universal and pan India by reinventing the word like “we are all very chulled (chilled) out!,” or “he is a chullar.” We can come up with hashtags #chul or #chulling.”

Yes, hashtag ‘chull‘” adds Alia. “Like we’re really ‘chulled out’ right now #chull”

When prompted about the soundtrack of the film the stars explained that it is very different and not like the typical Bollywood soundtracks. Also, the film itself is so powerful there really wasn’t space for songs, “so in our own way we had to slip it in,” said Alia.

“Our director is one of those directors who doesn’t really understand item number,” explained Alia. “so he wanted to make it his own and make it stand out.”

Keep it locked for more updates and be sure to catch “Kapoor and Sons Since 1921” releasing March 18!
