Jennifer Lawrence is having a pretty great year.
She’s already garnering rave reviews for her performance in David O. Russell’s forthcoming film ‘Joy’, which will most likely earn her her fourth Oscar nomination at just 25 years old. She’s just released ‘Mockingjay: Part 2’, the final film in the blockbuster ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise. And if critical and commercial success in acting weren’t enough, Jen is also busy penning an original screenplay with comedy It Girl Amy Schumer.
So what’s America’s Sweetheart going to do next? Direct her first feature-length film, of course!
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lawrence confirmed that she has signed on to make her directorial debut with ‘Project Delirium’, a film based on mental warfare and drug experimentation in the 1960’s.
Lawrence says she’s wanted to direct for as long as she’s wanted to act, and she’s finally ready to take the plunge:
“It’s funny, I’ve wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready. Now, I actually feel ready.”
We can’t wait to see what Jen comes up with!
