Hyundai Motor India foundation the CSR arm of Hyundai motor India limited, today completed the final leg of distribution of relief materials to the flood affected villages of Sriperumbudur. A complete set of utensils and a comprehensive package of groceries including toiletries were handed over to the residents of the villages of Vengadu, Nemily, Perinjampakkam, Ottankaranai and Thathanur.
These villages are located deep in the interiors of the Sriprumbudur and are not easily accessible.
The last three villages also received blankets, clothing for entire family, 20 liter water cans and mats, which were distributed in Vengadu and Nemily earlier this week. The top management of HMIL along with employee volunteers and UUHE members handed over the items to the 1000 families. 30 volunteers also segregated and packed the materials which arrived in 10 trucks, in just one day. HMIF will also begin sanitation drive in these villages from Saturday 12th Dec 2015.
Cleaning the entire village with tractors, mosquito fogging, spraying bleaching powder and cleaning water bodies are some of the activities planned, to help the villages return to normalcy. HMIF hopes that these small steps will help bring smiles back on the faces of these villagers. Our prayers are with all those who have suffered losses.
