Mumbai-based model and actress Arshi Khan has joined hands with
Algerian singer and music composer Cheb Arif to do a remix of the 1993 world-hit ‘Didi’!
When Cheb Khaled released ‘Didi’ in 1993, it became popular throughout the Arab world and Asia, where it topped musical charts in India and Pakistan. It also made its way through France, Belgium, and Spain. ‘Didi’ featured in the Bollywood film ‘Shreeman Aashiq’, and it was even played during the inauguration ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2010
in South Africa.
According to media reports, Arshi Khan has teamed up with RAK Music, a Pakistan-based label. A spokesperson for Cheb Arif has also confirmed his contract with RAK, and said the young and dynamic Algerian singer was looking forward to working with Arshi.
Talking about the collaboration, Arshi said,
“I am waiting for my Pakistan visa which is delayed for political reasons. I will be going to Pakistan to shoot part of the video.”
She added that part of the video will be shot in locations around the year early next year.
