If there is one word that could be used to describe famed Bollywood choreographer Ahmed Khan, it would be ‘trendsetter’. With a career spanning over 20 years, Khan has created celebrated numbers in modern Bollywood classics like Taal, Rangeelaa, Ghajini, and Kick.
Khan’s choreography harkens back to a time when music videos were not simply a string of dance moves, but of a form of visual storytelling that delighted millions around the world. And through his trademark style that allows him to create song picturizations that portray the minute details and emotions that take you to the heart of a love story, Khan continues to set industry standards of excellence in choreography.
Besides reaching out to millions through theaters and television screens, Khan’s success can now be measured in YouTube hits, as well. In 2015, he struck gold with Nachan Farrate, Afghan Jalebi, and the most recent internet sensation Dheere Dheere, which features hot young favorites Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor in a remix of the 90s hit crossed 2.5 million views in just one day. Teaming up with Bollywood’s newest golden boy Tiger Shroff has also proven to be a successful collaboration: Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main and Chal Wahan Jaate Hain, both of which feature Shroff, raked in over 17 million YouTube hits.
And Khan hasn’t finished with 2015 just yet. From choreographing debutante Sooraj Pancholi in Hero to working with worldwide sensation Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in her comeback film Jazbaa, Ahmed Khan has plenty more surprises in store for the audience.
Now that’s what we call the Midas touch!
