Ritu Kumar‘s timeless collection was an honorable tribute to a rooted piece of Indian fashion, handloom weaving in Varanasi. The layered garments, gorgeous lenghas and and exquisite saris recreated the vintage style.
The show was divided into four parts which revealed Kumar‘s versatility in creating weaves of a superlative form. Opening with white on white kurta sets, leading to rich-colored saris, to tunics with palazzos, the collection conveyed the ultimate combination of elegance and tradition. The show ended with a grand bridal collection of ornate lenghas. All in all, Kumar‘s collection was a true ode to the wonders of Varanasi weaves!
