Why is Paul Rudd being compared to Robert Downey Jr?

Paul Rudd, best known for playing likable guys in blockbuster rom-coms as This Is 40 and I Love You, Man, is stepping into the Ant-Man suit. The lovable actor has impressed his film makers so much that they’ve compared to Robert Downey Jr!

Marvel Chief Kevin Feige said,

“We honed in on Paul relatively early. A very high bar has been set with Robert Downey in Iron Man. That idea was, find the best actor for the part, regardless of whether they’ve been in a movie like this before. Great actors, charismatic actors, who can connect to the audience on a deeply emotional and on an entertaining, charismatic level and also be able to pull off the action and look cool in a suit – the inherent likability you can’t train for, and Paul has that.”

With such praise from the head honchos to add to his growing list, it comes as no surprise that Rudd was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! The actor was honored and humbled by the gesture. During the ceremony Rudd said,

“I remember being a kid and walking this boulevard and reading the names and thinking about what so many other millions of people thought about, which is, ‘Who’s that?’… The fact that millions of people are going to be able to now see me and ask that same question…is humbling beyond belief.”
