The archetypal stereotype of the traditional Indian family is set to undergo a radical overhaul in this summer’s must-see family entertainer film Dil Dhadakne Do. Releasing internationally on 5th June 2015, this multi-starrer features an A-list of international acting talent.
Dil Dhadakne Do is an out and out family entertainer following Delhi’s elite family, the Mehra clan as they take to the high seas on a 10-day cruise across Europe’s most picturesque locations. The film captures the array of tangled and tumultuous relationships that will ring a bell with families around the world.
The film stars Bollywood heavyweight Anil Kapoor, whose film credentials include multi-Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire and also the Fox series 24 and former Miss World, a notable Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who is also an accomplished singer, having previously collaborated with music titans Will.I.AM and Pitbull.
Completing the illustrious line-up is avant-garde actor, director, musician and UN Goodwill Ambassador Farhan Akhtar, who won international plaudits for his biopic of inspirational Olympic runner Milkha Singh in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
The film has been expertly written and directed by Zoya Akhtar, whose previous award-winning work includes Luck By Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. With her path breaking vision and fresh themes, Zoya is considered one of India’s most critically and commercially successful female directors.
Adding their heavyweight production credentials to the film is Junglee Pictures, an emerging film studio spanning the development, production, and distribution of Hindi feature films internationally, and Excel Entertainment, India’s most dynamic pioneers of contemporary Indian film production, co-founded by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film’s musical score has been penned by acclaimed lyricists and music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
