Bombay Velvet is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Director Anurag Kashyap has gone on record to say that its the most expensive film to make so far in his career. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anuskha Sharma and Karan Johar. The film is set in Bombay in the 1960s and tells the story about a boxer, Johnny Balraj (Ranbir) and a Jazz singer, Rosie.
The makers recently released a video of the making of Bombay Velvet and we can definitely see why its so expensive!
The making starts off with Anurag using utensils to show his vision for the film to his crew. We then see a set being built to show the essence of the 60s. There are many shots of the elaborate sets and we also get to see a hard working Ranbir hitting the gym, while Anushka is busy rehearsing scenes for the film. The guns in Bombay Velvet were brought in from Germany. We are also told that there is 10,000 kilos of costumes, 25,000 kilos of art material and more than 200 vintage cars!
