Recently there was a rumor circling that the first day collections of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, Gabbar is Back would be donated to Nepal earthquake victims. Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to clear the air, stating that this rumor is not true. Since he is not the producer it is not something in his control, but he does promote donating to the cause. Akshay tweeted,
“Heard a rumour that I am donating #GabbarIsBack’s 1st day collections to the #NepalEarthquake victims. Firstly I am not the producer so that’s not my call to make and more importantly I don’t need to wait for the film’s release to do my bit. If you too want to lend your support here’s the link –> https://www.facebook.com/nepalearthquakesupport”
Of course Akshay is not the only actor to step out and show their support for the tragedy in Nepal at the moment. It is always wonderful to see an influential figure promote a worthy cause. We send our prayers and condolences to the families affected by the earthquakes.
