The new look poster of NFDC’s international co-production, Qissa, a Punjabi language feature film by Anup Singh, starring Irrfan Khan, Tisca Chopra, Tillotama Shome and Rasika Dugal among others, is now out. The new look features various characters from the film at different points of their lives. The poster reflects the ethnic and emotional theme of the film.
The film has won worldwide acclaim and awards at various international film festivals, including the Best Actor award for Irrfan Khan and two Best Actress awards for Tillotama Shome, the NETPAC Jury Award for the Best Asian Film at the Toronto International Film Festival 2013 and the Silver Gate Award in India Gold Competition at Mumbai International Film Festival, 2013. This is the first film to be shot under the Indian-German co-production treaty, in a path-breaking collaboration, so as to further the endeavour to create a global footprint for Indian cinema.
The film is now set to release in India on February 20, 2015 simultaneously across select theatres, on NFDC’s VOD site www.cinemasofindia.com and on DVD, thereby making the Punjabi language feature film accessible to a diverse pan Indian audience.
