Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is angry with a certain section of the media and rightly so! DNA published a story this past Monday quoting an unnamed source close to Deepika Padukone, who had said that Ranveer had been suffering from depression after a friend of his committed suicide. The article went on to claim that Deepika chose to talk about her depression with the media after seeing Ranveer struggle with his. A few other publications chose to publish this story as well.
Ranveer refuted those claims and in a Facebook post, he wrote;
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Ranveer! This type of sensational “journalism” shows that the greed for profit has become a huge threat to the existence of entertaining and quality news. It needs to be stopped and more responsible approach needs to be taken, especially when dealing with sensitive issues.
Although Urban Asian did not carry the story, we want to apologize to Ranveer and hope that his faith in journalism has not been lifted over what has transpired recently.
