Akshara Hassan surprised everyone by making her presence felt in R. Balki’s soon-to-release, Shamitabh. While the whole nation was under the impression that the younger daughter of Sarika and Kamal Hassan was more inclined to direction than acting, it was rather a pleasant surprise to see Akshara facing the camera for the very first time.
When quizzed about how she ended up getting this role, Akshara revealed that she never had to audition for it and R. Balki approached her out of the blue. She says,
“Balki Sir and I met at a function. He came up to me and said, ‘Hi Akshara, can I talk to you for 5 minutes?’”
While Akshara got excited thinking that she might get the opportunity to assist the maestro, however, he revealed that she has been approached to play a character in his upcoming film. Quite stunned by this, Akshara excitedly heard the script.
“We had a script discussion and I instantly connected with the script and my character. And thereafter, there was no looking back”, said Akshara.
Directed and written by R Balki, Shamitabh also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in lead roles. Presented by Eros International, the film is scheduled to release on the 6th of February 2015. Are you looking forward to watching Shamitabh? Let us know in the comment section below.
