‘Are you a Madrasi?’ This is one question that every person in India would have asked once in their lives to someone. And similarly we have always heard people cracking jokes on ‘South Indians’ for the lungi they wear to the Idli – Sambar they eat.
Every Indian apart from the ones who hail from the South has the practice of stereotyping South Indians and clubbing them into one state. To break away from this label, the Enna Da Rascalas Channel has released its first video. This video is a Stray factory and Culture Machine joint which aims at throwing some light, in fact educating Indians on the real facts about the India that exists down south.
The video which has been given a comic touch is truly insightful as it takes us through the varied rich culture, cuisine, language of the five different states of the South. Created to the tune of Billy Joel’s ‘We didn’t start the fire’, this one is catchy and refreshing. It breaks away from all those regular spoofs till date that have type casted the ‘South Indians’.
