“Mitti Di Khushboo”, the melodious single by Bollywood actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana and composer Rochak Kohli is generating quite a buzz. The duo have created magic twice before, and the magic is still going strong. Earlier, Khurrana and Kohli created the hits “Pani Da Rang” from Vicky Donor and “Saadi Galli Aaja” from Nautanki Saala.
If there is anyone who can create a perfect cover of the track, it is Canada’s Shweta Subram. Her vocal tone itself instantly creates a sense of India’s mitti di khushboo in your mind. Subram is an Indo-Canadian vocalist, who has teamed up with beatboxer Prashant Nair, flutist Tejas Vinchurkar, and guitarist Glenn Fernandes to create an edgy cover of this beautiful song. Adding a feather to his hat is Bharat Goel who mixed and mastered this version. He’s the man behind the original as well. The video was produced and released by Qyuki, an organization founded by Shekhar Kapur, A.R. Rahman, and Samir Bangara.
According to Daily Times, Ayushmann said,
“This song is about love, rain, nostalgia, it’s about everything you remember from the past, and I think, it will be a home coming anthem this festive season.”
