Salman stated

“Nikhil is a nice and well-meaning guy. I saw the film and felt that it had potential in its genre, but felt that some portions needed to be trimmed. Sometimes we actors become megalomaniacs, where we let the film be long and the director also feels that isko kaatoonga toh isko bura lagega, so they keep it loose. So, it is actually our duty as actors to have it edited tightly”.

He is right about this statement as some films can become super long and have no meaning in some of the scenes as the audience might just not care for it- thus Salman was kind enough to step in. We also hear that one of Amitabh Bachchan old tunes will be featured in the film which will gives it a ‘old is gold’ moment.

From the trailer the film looks like a story of two people who meet, don’t get along well and then start getting along in the journey.Richa plays a roguish character mouthing foul language in the film while Nikhil Dwivedi too plays a small time thief .

There were reports that ‘Tamanchey’ is based on gangster Abu Salem and his then lady love actress Monica Bedi’s life but Nikhil denies such reports.

“There is absolutely no inspiration drawn from the life of Abu Salem-Monica Bedi, as reported. It is not related to it,” the Raavan actor said.

But he did admit that he has been approached for a film based on Abu Salem’s life.

“I have been offered a biopic on Abu Salem and I am considering it. It could be my next film,” he adds.

Be sure to catch the film this Septemeber and check out the trailer and let us know what you think!
