The time has come and the wait is finally over. The trailer for the upcoming film Mary Kom is here to knock you out! Watch the gritty Priyanka Chopra, National Award Winner, in and as Mary Kom as she awes the audience with her performance in the trailer. The power packed trailer showcases the journey starting from her first pair of gloves found at a plane crash site to becoming a five time World Boxing Champion and the only Indian woman boxer to have qualified and won a bronze in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Most champions make their name, but she made history. Based on the true story of Mary Kom, the trailer depicts Mary Kom’s life beautifully including moments of her struggle where she gave up boxing to enjoy motherhood. Even though the world forgot the boxer’s accomplishments, Mary Kom could not forget her passion for boxing. With the support of her husband, Mary Kom was able to reignite her zeal and got back to the ring in spite of being a mother to 2 kids. The trailer for this inspiring story was launched at a popular suburban multiplex amidst a packed house by Priyanka Chopra along with Director Omung Kumar, Producers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the COO of Viacom18 Motion Pictures – Ajit Andhare. Priyanka and her fans have been excited for the trailer launch all along and she was seen tweeting about it to her fans.

This is Producer Sanjay Leela Bhansalil’s first outing in this genre. Known for his larger than life creations, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be associating with the talented debut director Omung Kumar for this impressive biopic for the first time. Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom will hit theaters on 5th September 2014.
