A versatile performer who can sing in English, Hindi, Urdu and Arabic, Nazeel’s latest release ‘Allah Hu’ is an easy listen and offers a soothing sense of reflection. The song is available as a free download, a special gift during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming celebration of Eid al Fitr. Nazeel’s Bengali origins and travels to India and the Middle East have enabled him to draw from Eastern vocal and harmonic traditions, which form a key influence in his music.
He began his career singing with the internationally acclaimed Sami Yusuf on his hugely successful debut album ‘al-Mu’allim’. After recording with a number of other artists, Nazeel released his own album, ‘Dunya’, back in 2006 and introduced himself to a global audience. During his career, Nazeel has amassed over 1 Million YouTube views, performed in more than 20 countries and sung on the soundtrack of acclaimed Hollywood film, ‘The Kite Runner’.
In 2014, Nazeel signed with UMA Global Records, releasing a beautiful nasheed influenced cover of the Bollywood hit ‘Shukran Allah’, amassing over 100,000 hits in just 1 month.
