Sajid Khan’s out-and-out entertainer is unstoppable at the box office. The film grew exponentially on Sunday to collect 15.04 crores and is expected to hold very well over the week days that follow. Audiences have given the film two thumbs up as the film grew every single day at the counters.
It collected 12.50 crores on Friday and netted 12.59 crores on Saturday. Humshakals recorded a super weekend of 40.13 crores — the 4th biggest opening weekend in 2014 after Jai Ho (60.68), Gunday (43.93) and Holiday (41.32). Starring Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tamannah, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu.
But many are giving it a thumbs down? So how did this film do so well? A whole bunch of laughs and male actors turning female? Was that really the reason some didn’t like it? Apparently many are saying the film was all fun but the story line was weak?
Humshakals broke records on Day One as it became the third highest opener after Jai Ho and Gunday. A full family entertainer, the film is a laugh riot that has connected superbly well with the audiences as the numbers show. Humshakals is made at a cost of 75cr including the P&A. Fox Star Studios and Vashu Bhagnani’s Humshakals has already sold its satellite and music rights for 45cr.
‘Humshakals’ stars Saif Ali Khan, Ram Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in triple roles – a never-before for Indian cinema, along with Tamannaah Bhatia, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta as the leading ladies. What did you think of the film?
