JRAJCOVER

A live musician at the core with a modern production sensibility, J Raj aka Jasraj, is a Canadian born and bred trailblazer. J Raj is fast being recognized as the ‘go to guy’ for innovative EDM production. Having toured with and remixed for international award winning duo JoSH, he has collaborated with them on two hit tracks “Meri Dua (House Mix)” and “Ole Ole J-Mix”. The former is a soulful house track and the latter is a remake of an institution for South Asian generations growing up in the 90’s and J Raj’s version has fast tracked the record for a real 21st century club vibe.

Jasraj has spent his musical career accompanying some of the biggest names in the bhangra industry. Renowned artists such as Sukshinder Shinda, Aman Hayer, B21, RDB, Punjabi Hit Squad, Balwinder Safri, and Lehmber Hussainpuri are but a handful of established brand names that Jasraj has shared stage with. Recently, Jasraj lit up the stage at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver opening for the Barenaked Ladies at the medals ceremonies and performing for VIP and athlete-only cultural artistic displays.

Describing his style of music as “True to its genre laced with electronic elements”, J Raj released his debut EP in 2011 featuring a summer reggae styled ‘Leh Jana’, radio hit ‘Ambran Da Chan’, & a throwback to the golden nineties of bhangra music, ‘Nach Nach Ke’. Be sure to keep it locked on Urban Asian for the updates on his latest track, “Parra Hoke Nach!”
