Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor has taken on a unique promotional method for his movie ‘Lakshmi’. He will screen it in various colleges across the country to capture the interest of the youth.
“The college screening are a unique format, something I have not done in a long time since ‘Hyderabad Blues’. It’s the best way to get the word out to the target audience, the youth, who are always at the forefront of change,” Kukunoor told us.
The Films team comprising of Produer Elahe Hiptoola, Cinematographer Chitrangan Das, Leading lady Monali Thakur and Actor Shefali Shah conducted a master class at Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International to understand the research and detailing that goes into making a film. Chirantan Das shared how he shot the entire film with almost no lights.Ellahi Hiptoola spoke about the technical aspects of the film and the support she got from the team. Shefali Shah and Monali Thakur gave important acting tips to the students.
‘Lakshmi’, which is about human trafficking and child prostitution, features Monali Thakur in the lead role.
