What happens when an innovative hip-hop fusion band from Toronto teams up with a rising star in Bollywood music? The results are soulful, compelling, and very, very catchy. Dil Ke Taar is a hip-hop ballad with a big Bollywood heart. Produced and written by The Gunsmith and brought to life by the MoHit and Jonita Gandhi. The song Dil Ke Taar will firmly implant itself in your head, cause you to vibe to its infectious groove, and make you overflow with romantic sentiments the way only a classic Bollywood film can. Don’t believe us? Check out the track yourself!
Jonita, fresh off the success of her Bollywood break (she recently sang the title song of Chennai Express along with SP Balasubrahmanyam, as well as the stirring Clinton Cerejo composition Pinjra for Coke Studio India), lends her beautiful voice to Dil Ke Taar in a mesmerizing performance. MoHit, a gifted and admired singer (he has opened for Kailash Kher, performed at events like Miss India-Canada and recently amazed Anu Malik at a singing competition) brings forth his powerful Sufi-esque voice to complete this sweet serenade. The Gunsmith, the outstanding multi-talented composer/lyricist/producer of this song, also grabs the mic as a rapper to deliver blisteringly fast rhymes and sparkling wordplay towards the climax.
Dil Ke Taar is accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by The Gunsmith and beautifully shot by Morgan Kurchak, which tells a charming Bollywood story that’s sure to tug at your heartstrings. What did you guys think of the track? Let us know!
