It is no secret, Shweta Subram’s favorite music composer is the legendary AR Rahman. If you remember, last month, she released the teaser to the song “Piya” (to be released later this year). That track was produced by Pravin Mani, who has spent years working with AR Rahman. Rahman, of course, is completely revered by all in the world of music. So, it is no surprise that Shweta would make such a special tribute to her favorite composer, AR Rahman for his birthday (tomorrow)!

The song is a rendition of ‘Moongil Thottam‘ – a song from Rahman’s upcoming movie ‘Kadhal‘ directed by Mani Ratnam. This cover is a duo featuring Shweta Subram along with singer Saiesan Muthulingam, a rising Tamil singer from Canada. The song has been made as a dedication for AR Rahman’s birthday, which is tomorrow (Jan 6th).
Singing sensation Shweta Subram shot to fame when she won the global online singing competition created by Shankar Mahadevan’s Academy. Thousands of talented singers had entered, but Subram beat them all with her soulful voice. Since then, she went on to wow audiences at the IIFA Awards, where she performed with singing duo – Salim Sulaiman. She impressed them so much that she performed with the duo again in Canada last year.
