Q.    Who plays the lead character ‘Matru’ in the film ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’?

Matru Ki Bijlee ka Mandola is a comedy drama set in the rustic surroundings of a village in Haryana in India and boasts an eclectic cast of veteran actors – Pankaj Kapur and Shabana Azmi – Bollywood’s young gun rising stars – Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma – and also the symbolic ‘Gulabi Bhains’ (pink buffalo), the film’s very own item girl.

Matru Ki Bijlee ka Mandola is directed by the award-winning and multi-talented Vishal Bharadwaj who also co-writes the script and has created the foot-tapping musical score for the film. Vishal’s credits include Satya, Maqbool, Omkara, Kaminey, Ishqiya, 7 Khoon Maaf and a host of other respected projects too. The talented music composer  Vishal Bharadwaj was accompanied by Sukhwinder Singh and Ranjit who sang the upbeat and rustic title track of the film. Pankaj Kapur who plays one of the pivotal characters in the film had also lent his voice and sang two other songs.
