Dr. L. Subramaniam, India’s foremost violinist was invited to perform with Stevie Wonder at Wonder’s Message of Peace Concert to celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the UN at the UN General Assembly, NY.
Dr. L. Subramaniam was the only instrumental soloist and international musician invited to be a part of this event. Stevie Wonder and Subramaniam collaborated on two songs composed by Wonder “My Cherie Amour” and “Higher Ground.” After Subramaniam‘s performance, Wonder exclaimed “incredible!”
The concert also featured a number of famous artists including Sting and Wyclef Jean. This is Subramaniam‘s third performance at the UN – he was first invited to perform his own composition with Lord Yehudi Menuhin in 1987 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Indian Independence at the UN, and then again with Ambi Subramaniam in 2011.
