Zee News gets a new CEO

After five years in the role, Zee News CEO Barun Das has decided to bid farewell to his post.

The London School of Economics alumni, who previously held the post of Executive Vice President with Media Content and Communications Services (MCCS) and was the Business Head of Star Ananda, has decided to focus on his own entrepreneurial ventures. The businessman has handled a number of high profile projects and was largely responsible for taking forward the joint venture between Astro and NDTV to start news channels in Malaysia and Indonesia, during his time at Astro AII Asia Network as the Head of International Business Development.

Das, who is also a B-Tech from IIT Madras and is a postgraduate from IIM Calcutta also previously held various other senior management level positions while working for companies such as the India Today Group and ABP.

His position at Zee News will be filled by Alok Agrawal who was previously working with Cheil Worldwide South West Asia.
