Anurag Kahsyap to celebrate the release of ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ with a ‘Chicken Party’ : Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and his actress wife Kalki Koechlin are planning to host a ‘Chicken Party’ for their close friends, prior to the release of his production venture, ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken’ Khurana. The couple is reported to be hosting friends such as Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Manoj Bajpayee at the party at their residence next week.

Said Kashyap,

“There are many ideas that we are tossing around to celebrate Chicken Khurana and we are exploring several things like from throwing parties to staying at people’s home to searching the true recipe of Chicken Khurana. It is a fun campaign that celebrates food.”

The film, which features Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, revolves around a popular Chicken Khurana recipe, and the party is themed in keeping with the film.

From Gangs to Gastronomy, Anurag Kashyap enters the world of cuisine with ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ Famous for his gritty film direction in the lauded Gangs of Wasseypur, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is now exploring the more gentile world of cookery with his latest film venture as co-producer on UTV Spotboy’s ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana.’ As part of the promotions, he is serving up a different platter altogether by releasing a cookery book that will feature chicken recipes sourced from across the globe. The forthcoming film revolves around an extended family and their secret recipe for a chicken curry, ‘Chicken Khurana’, which has inspired the idea for the cookbook.

As well as his role as co-producer on the forthcoming family entertainer, UTV Spotboy’s ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana,’ Anurag Kashyap has also taken to the director seat to give the film a twist of his filmmaking style by shooting a special video for the film. The director took time out of his busy schedule to work on the video for the catchy ‘Motorwale’ song. Anurag conceptualised the video and helped with its direction.

From Airhead to Doctor – Huma Qureshi’s relatable character in ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ After playing an airhead in Gangs of Wasseypur, rising talent Huma Qureshi will be essaying the role of a doctor in ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana‘ and says that audiences will be able to connect with her small town girl screen avatar. The 26-year-old actress said,

“I am playing a doctor in the film, her name is Harman. She is from Punjab…from a very small-time place over there. She is very real, earthy, and a normal girl. If you go to the interiors of Punjab, you’ll find a lot of girls like her.”

‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ – Screen Ode to the Hrishikesh Mukherjee genre: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says that his upcoming co-production ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ reminded him of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee school of filmmaking, which is now rarely seldom experienced.

“After a long time I read a script which I found was in a zone that we no longer remember. You see Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, then there were Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee films, this is like those gentle comedies. People have stopped writing such films and somewhere I got a similar feel from the film.”

The film revolves around the hunt for a secret recipe – Chicken Khurana – that had made the Khurana Dhaba famous.

Battle of the Foodies: Ever since it was announced that the makers of ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ would reward the best recipe for a chicken dish, they have been flooded with requests from dhabas all over the Punjab to allow them to participate too in the competition. Many are keen to introduce the delicacy as part of their menus now also.

“Yes, we have got requests from dhaba owners from all across North India and we are considering introducing Chicken Khurana in a few highway dhabas in Punjab,” confirms Shikha Kapur, Executive Director, Marketing, Studios Disney UTV.

Sources reveal that there are almost tweleve dhabas waiting to compete in the competition and the interest they are showing is encouraging.
