Fashion’s Night Out in New York City! An evening of mixing and mingling among the fashionable and the fabulous. Of indulging in the cutting-edge trends of haute couture and street chic alike. Of designers, celebrities and everyday fashionistas meeting in a celebration of shopping, schmoozing, and of course, style.
From Saks to Soho, there was no shortage of soirees to kick off New York Fashion Week 2012 last Thursday evening. Urban Asian was thrilled to attend the Fashion’s Night Out festivities at RARE Salon among a fun-loving assortment of industry professionals, media personalities, and friends.
Owned by Fatima Sheikh–whose experience has included makeup and hair for films, Victoria’s Secret models, and Christian Dior runway shows–the eclectic and vibrantly colored Tribeca space (orange and pink walls, anyone?) was perfect for a party. Co-hosted by SAYWE, the event was a showcase for three of the hottest names in South Asian fashion: accessory and jewelry stylist-for-the-stars Amrita Singh, resort wear brand Sexiguru, and luxury lifestyle designer Nausheen Gilkar.*
Stay tuned for a recap of our conversations with each of the designers!
*Rare will be hosting a 2-day pop-up shop of the 3 brands through Sunday, September 8 and Monday, September 9!*
