India is such a historic country with a deep-rooted history that involves many figures who have each made a big mark. When thinking of all those people that have made a difference in India, the list would be very long. However, History TC18 and CNN IBN have come up with a shorter list, in their t.v. show featuring just this topic.
It is based off the question “Who is the Greatest Indian after Mahatma Gandhi?“. The show’s format is that of a similar series that was started out by BBC called “The Great Briton“. Many countries have followed this format for a similar show and have successfully launched the series. It is now India’s turn. The show features a list of 28 judges including Vidya Balan (Bollywood actress), Shabana Azmi (Bollywood actress), Chetan Bhagat (India’s best selling author), Shubha Mugdal (Hindustani Classical Singer), Harsha Bhogle (India’s Top Cricket Commentator), Inder Malhotra (India’s Most Talented Journalist), and many many more interesting people.
The 10 nominees are Lata Mangeshkar, Vallabhbhai Patel, J.R.D. Tata, Indira Gandhi, A.B. Vajpayee, Mother Teresa, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sachin Tendulkar, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Wow! What a list!
