With a mixture of cultures behind her, singer, songwriter and rap artist Kimeli is creating a musical wave in the industry.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, she moved to London at the age of six and attended the highly acclaimed Sylvia Young Theatre School in conjunction with studies at Putney High, playing an active role in singing, dance and drama at both establishments.
At the early age of 14 she began to write her own tracks in South Africa with well-known producers including DJ Jazzy D and Big Boi of Brown Suga Entertainment. Following on from this she auditioned for the popular UK reality usic schow – X Factor in 2010, where she progressed to the final 100 out of 300,000 contestants.
In 2011, she joined forces with producer and friend Bharat Goel to launch her first Hindi track ‘Money Honey’, which attracting a lot of international interest and she was eventually signed to Eros International.
Now starting the next phase of her musical career, Kimeli is being recognized on a global scale.
