*EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW* Parichay says 'Learn Your Craft and Try To Perfect It'

We spoke with Toronto’s very own, Parichay about his upcoming performance at desiFEST! He tells us how excited he is to perform his new Bollywood song, “O Meri Chandni” for the very first time in Canada! Want to know where he’s learnt about music the most, why Parichay keeps coming back to the desiFEST stage every year, and what he has to say for new comers who are getting started? Well, what are you waiting for, read on!

Check out the full interview below.

You’ve been performing at desiFEST for quite a few years now. What’s something that always brings you back to that stage?

Toronto is my hometown and I love the crowd here. The energy is off the hook and Yonge and Dundas is the best location for a music festival in the city. That stage is magical and I can’t wait to rock desifest this year.

What are you working on right now? Will fans get to hear any new music from you at desiFEST, any sneak peeks?

I am always working on new material but this year at desiFEST I am excited to perform my new single ‘Human Machine’ as well my Bollywood song ‘O Meri Chandni’ for the first time ever in Canada.

You’ve made your way to almost every artists dream, Bollywood!! How’s it feel to finally make it there, and which other mainstream Indian singer do you hope to work with in the near future?

Everything in life has come to me slowly and I tend to enjoy progress on a slope rather than overnight. I was born in Mumbai and been around Bollywood movies, music and stars since a very early age. It was a natural progression for me to do work there and God has been very kind for making these things happen for me.

You’re fans are of course very happy and excited for your Bollywood release and can’t get enough of it, what kind of response have you received from the actual industry itself?

Bollywood is an industry full of surprises. Every day spent in Mumbai taught me several new lessons, the biggest one being “Do not under-estimate nobody”. Several people from the industry have acknowledged and praised my work and that is always a good feeling.

Have you been musically trained or music is something that comes very naturally to you?

Yes, I have taken vocal lessons and continue to do so. I have also been to audio production school and consider myself a student for life. I have to admit that I’ve learnt the most, simply off YouTube. 🙂

What advice would you give to someone who’s getting started?

Learn your craft and try to perfect it. Think long-term and don’t cheat music. Do it cuz you love it and have a passion for it. Money, cars, girls, cribs, jewelry will all follow when the time is right :). “Every dog has its day”

Thank you for taking time out to do this interview. Is there anything you would like to say to your fans and our UrbanAsian.com readers?

I can’t thank you all enough for all the love and support. Music is my life and I’ma keep going until I can. Keep rockin’ with your boy Parichay. God bless.

Come check out Parichay performing live at desiFEST in Toronto on May 26th at Yonge-Dundas Square at 9:20PM.
