Zee TV Partners with London School of Economics’ India Week

Zee TV was a proud partner of London School of Economics’ Society for the Promotion of Indian Culture and Ethos (S.P.I.C.E.) celebration called ‘India Week 2012’ – a unique commemoration of the many facets of the world’s largest democracy! By supporting India Week 2012, Zee is delighted to be part of the success of India and its students at and outside LSE!

As the world’s largest India-centric campus event, the LSE India Week 2012 was a reflection of everything that makes India unique on a global scale, mirrored through a series of events showcasing the intricate facets of Indian culture. This was one week (18-26th February 2012) dedicated to making the world more knowledgeable about this beautiful nation of over one billion people. Bollywood legend Rishi Kapoor inaugurated the week long activities. From Economics to Bollywood, from tradition to food – the event featured an array of features including a discussion panel giving the audience understanding of the Indian economy in the current global economic climate.

Virad Kaul, Territory Head  UK & Europe- Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd was one of the panelists alongside other prominent members including Lord Karan Bilimoria (CBE, DL, Founder & Chairman, Cobra Beer), Mr Rahul Sharma (Co-Founder and Executive Director, Micromax Informatics India), Ms Madhur Jha (Global Economist, HSBC) and senior Economists from LSE itself – giving insight into the role of media in the Indian economy, its future, the challenges it faces and what places it is good heed for development.

 

 

The week ended with a Desi Showdown Bollywood night with performances by the talented singer Arjun and students from the college. The Real finale came in the form of a talk by Cricketer Ajay Jadeja at the Lords Cricket Ground followed by a cricket match between LSE’s India and Pakistan Cricket teams at the famous grounds.
