Raghav Announces "The Phoenix" Release Date!

After a long wait, Raghav has finally announced the date for his forthcoming album, The Phoenix.

Raghav released his debut album, Storyteller, in 2004 which sold an impressive 1.3 million copies and was also the 6th best selling international album of all time for the Indian territory in India. The album had many ear-catching tunes and also 4 singles which included Angel Eyes, Can’t Get Enough, Let’s Work It Out, and So Confused.

His sophomore album, Identity, followed in 2009 which was exclusively released in India. Identity included tracks such as My Kinda Girl featuring Redman, and Humrahee. The album quickly rose to #3 on the charts in India.

Now Raghav is all set to release his forthcoming album, The Phoenix, on April 10 in Canada. Raghav’s worked in the UK and in India and it’s about time he releases songs and an album in his home country, Canada. In 2010 he put out his first single in Canada, So Much, which featured a fellow Canadian, Kardinal Offishall. So Much was later followed by a Hindi track titled Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya. However, his most recent success in Canada was with Fire which became certified gold with over 50,000 downloads. And his latest track Top Of The World is now making it’s way around Canadian radio.

Raghav announced the news to his fans via Twitter last week:

He’s worked with producers Labrinth and Jim Beanz on this album and Jim Beanz has also co-written a few tracks!

The album features a track called Love, which was also written by Beanz, and originally optioned for Michael Jackson. After never being recorded, Love became available, with Raghav as the producer’s choice to finally record the song. Lucky him, eh?
