Release of Shanghai!

PVR Pictures has just announced that the release of Dibakar Banerjee’s thriller ‘Shanghai’ will be on June 8th, 2012!!

Starring Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin, and Prosenjit Chatterjee, the movie is based on the life of politicians and their greed.  It’s been inspired by the Costa Gavras directed movie ‘Z’, released in 1969.  The movie talks about the present roller coaster expose of big money politics and how the common man gets his revenge back.

Thrilled at the way ‘Shanghai’ has been shaped up, director Dibakar Banerjee said,

“Frankly I have been stunned by the performances from our stars and our character artistes. I can safely say that all preconceived notions that people have about both Abhay and Emraan are going to be shattered by this movie.”
