Stereotypes proven wrong in Ferrari Ki Sawaari!

Bringing back memories of the time when scooters like the Chetak were popular, Rajesh Mapuskar’s debut directorial Ferrari Ki Sawaari from the Vinod Chopra Camp contains large amounts of history and culture. While doing so, it also sheds a lot of light on Parsee culture and society.

Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ starring Sharman and Boman Irani, is a story showcasing three generations of Parsees. The film brilliantly portrays the lifestyle of the ordinary Parsee family and also breaks away many stereotypical ideologies based on the Parsee community.

A ‘whiteband-galla’ kind of coat is the biggest example of Parsees being stereotyped.  However, Sharman is seen donning clothes other than the stereotypical.

The movie also broke the myth of Parsees essentially being portrayed as ‘Bawas’ in the society. The movie will surely be an eye opener for all of us towards the Parsee society.

We are waiting for the movie to release to see what other stereotypes the movie breaks!
